No. 22 Tennessee defeated Wake Forest, 4-3, Sunday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Rebeka Mertena, Elza Tomase, Elenora Molinaro and Esther Adeshina all claimed victories for Tennessee.
Wake Forest (0-1) claimed a doubles point by winning two of the three matches.
Tennessee’s tandem of Tenika McGriffin and Daria Kuczer defeated Brooke Killingsworth and Anna Brylin, 6-3. Killingsworth and Brylin are the No. 2 doubles team in the country.
In singles, Mertina, ranked No. 14 in the nation, defeated Samantha Martelli, 6-3, 6-3.
Tomase, ranked No. 56, defeated No. 58 Casie Wooten, 6-2, 6-4. Molianro outlasted Killinsworth, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
Adeshina also defeated Peyton Pesavento, 6-2, 6-3.
