Lady Vols to play North Carolina in NCAA Tournament.

Tennessee’s volleyball team has made the NCAA Tournament.

The Lady Vols (19-9) will open tournament play Friday against North Carolina (21-8) in Columbus, Ohio.

The host Buckeyes, a No. 9 overall national seed, will play Howard in Friday’s other game.

This marks the 16th time Tennessee will be in the tournament field and its first appearance since 2018.

Tennessee was eliminated in the second round in its last appearance, the first under head coach Eve Rackam Watt.

Rackam Watt is a former player and assistant coach for the Tar Heels.

Friday’s match between North Carolina and Tennessee will represent the 14th all-time meeting between the two schools on the volleyball Court. The Lady Vols lead the series 9-4, but North Carolina won the last meeting in a five-set thriller in 2009.
