Morgahn Fingall and Danielle Mahaffey helped Tennessee down Mississippi State for a second consecutive night and sweep the Southeastern Conference series from the Bulldogs.
Fingall and Mahaffey both posted 14 kills to spark the Lady Vols’ hitting attack in a straight-sets victory, 25-19, 25-17, 25-21, over Mississippi State at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Fingall also had six kills and two blocks for UT (8-6, 8-6 SEC), while Mahaffey had three blocks against the Bulldogs (4-12, 4-12).
In the back row, Tennessee libero Madison Bryant posted a solid performance as she finished with 15 digs and four service aces.
Setter Natalie Hayward was also effective as she dished out 29 assists and seven digs for the Lady Vols. She also had a block and served up an ace.
UT returns to action when it travels to Arkansas for a series against the Razorbacks March 13-14.
Saturday’s match in Fayetteville begins at 3 p.m. EST. Sunday’s contest will start at 3 p.m. EDT.
