Lady Vols’ softball game with Austin Peay canceled

Austin Peay-Tennessee game canceled due to COVID-19 issues in Governors’ program.

Tennessee’s softball game against Austin Peay, scheduled for Wednesday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium, has been canceled.

The game was canceled due to COVID-19 issues in the Governors’ program. UT officials announced the game will not be made up.

The Lady Vols are 17-1 this season and in the midst of a 12-game winning streak.

It was the fourth cancellation for UT this season. The Lady Vols had its season-opening tournament in Conway, South Carolina rained out and did not play three games due to inclement weather.

Tennessee will return to the diamond Friday night when it hosts LSU in the Southeastern Conference opener for both schools.

No. 12 LSU and No. 25 Tennessee will open their series at 6 p.m. EST.

The series continues Saturday at 1 p.m. EST and that game will be televised on SEC Network.

The two schools will close out its series at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday.
