Lady Vols salvage split at Alabama

Recapping UT’s volleyball win at Alabama Saturday.

The University of Tennessee snapped its two-match losing streak and salvaged a split against Alabama Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa.

The Lady Vols, who dropped a four-set match to the Crimson Tide, returned the favor Saturday by prevailing in a four-setter at Foster Auditorium.

Tennessee picked up a 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20 victory over Alabama (7-13, 7-13 SEC).

Lily Felts, a Knoxville product and Berean Christian School graduate, finished the match with 11 kills, 21 digs and two assists, while Morgahn Fingall led the hitting attack for the Lady Vols (10-8, 10-8).

Fingall had 16 kills, five blocks and a service ace for Tennessee, which returns home to face LSU in a two-match series at Thompson-Boling Arena Wednesday and Thursday.

Both matches begin at 2 p.m. EDT.

Natalie Hayward had 42 assists and eight digs in the series finale against the Crimson Tide, while Madison Bryant finished with 21 digs and four assists.
