The Lady Vols defeat Missouri to open SEC play.

No. 18 Tennessee opened the Southeastern Conference play with a 14-3 victory at No. 14 Missouri Sunday.

The game at Mizzou Stadium was called after the sixth inning due to an eight-run rule.

The Lady Vols (17-6, 1-1 SEC) scored four runs in the top of the first inning on an RBI double by Ashley Morgan and a three-run home run by Zaida Puni.

Tennessee extended its advantage to 6-0 in the third inning on a two-run double by Lair Beautae.

The Tigers pulled to within 6-3 in the fourth inning before Kiki Milloy’s three-run home run in the fifth made it 9-3.

The Lady Vols tallied five times in the sixth inning as Milloy, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs, produced a two-run single. McKenna Gibson drove in a run on a hit.

Puni scored on a wild pitch. Ivy Davis drove in a run when she was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Erin Edmoundson pitched a complete game, recording three strikeouts.
