No. 11 Tennessee overcame a second-inning deficit en route to capturing a midweek win over Lipscomb Wednesday.
After falling behind, Tennessee scored eight unanswered runs to defeat Lipscomb at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium before an announced crowd of 1,505.
Tennessee (23-9) scored first in the opening frame when freshman Lair Beautae stole home.
The Bisons (13-19) responded, scoring twice in the second inning. Lipscomb recorded its only hit of the contest when Maci Cunconan had a two-run home run off Tennessee starter Ryleigh White. White pitched 2.2 innings before giving way to reliever Bailey McCachren, who retired all 13 batters she faced.
McCachren (5-2) had four strikeouts in the game.
Kiki Milloy, McKenna Gibson and Beautae recorded home runs for Tennessee.
Milloy went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. She drove in four runs, stole one base, recorded a double and a single.
Beautae had two hits, two runs and a pair of stolen bases.
Gibson had two hits and scored one run. She also had one RBI for Tennessee, which had eight hits in the game.
