Tennessee’s volleyball team opened Southeastern Conference play Saturday with a four-set victory over Arkansas at Thompson-Boling Arena.
No. 21 Tennessee dropped its first set before coming back to defeat the Razorbacks, 31-33, 25-19, 25-21, 25-14.
Tennessee (9-2, 1-0 SEC) had a strong defensive effort against Arkansas (10-3, 1-1 SEC) as Madison Bryant recorded 22 digs. Natalie Hayward added 19 and Lily Felts finished with 12.
Breana Runnels led the Lady Vols with 15 kills and also served up an ace. Ava Bell posted 11 kills and six blocks.
Hayward totaled nine kills and 35 assists against Arkansas.
Tennessee and the Razorbacks will conclude their two-game SEC series Sunday at noon EDT. The game will be televised on SEC Network.
