Penn State women’s basketball team will live to see another day after picking up a Big Ten tournament victory over Wisconsin on Thursday evening in Minnesota. Penn State’s 80-56 victory over the Badgers was fueled by four players scoring in double figures and a fast start to the game with a 12-point lead after the first quarter.
Makenna Marissa was among the players scoring in double figures with 10 points and a team-high five assists. Marissa also had four rebounds in the game. Ashley Owusu led the starting lineup with 13 points and Kylie Lavelle led the team with 14 points coming off the bench for the Lady Lions.
Penn State outscored Wisconsin in each quarter to cruise to a key victory to keep NCAA tournament hopes alive.

But things are not about to get any easier for the Lady Lions as the Big Ten women’s basketball tournament continues.
Next up for the Lady Lions will be a Big Ten quarterfinal matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Penn State will face Iowa on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on Big Ten Network.
