For the past year or so, there have been seemingly endless rumors that Kyrie Irving wants to reunite with LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers and that the Lakers have been interested in getting him.

They made at least two attempts to land him — one last summer and another prior to this past season’s trade deadline. Both times, the Brooklyn Nets rebuffed L.A.’s efforts, and they instead sent Irving to the Dallas Mavericks.

Earlier this summer, there were rumors once again that perhaps he was Lakers-bound. Instead, he signed a new contract to remain in the Lone Star State. Even after that, the rumors haven’t stopped.

Recently, a very young fan asked Irving if he’s going to the Lakers, and Irving emphatically said no.

There is a possibility that as long as James remains a Laker, the rumors of Irving possibly joining him there will flare up now and then. However, the possibility of the guard actually coming to L.A. seems very low, even if both parties are interested in a deal.
