Kyrie Irving: ‘Every single team wants to beat us’

According to Kyrie Irving, the Nets are getting every team’s best shot.

After the Nets beat the Boston Celtics on Thursday to extend their current win streak to three, Kyrie Irving said “every single team wants to beat us” during the postgame press conference.

According to NBA.com, the Brooklyn Nets are the No. 1 team in basketball per their latest power rankings. Opposing teams are beginning to understand and recognize that if they can pull off a big game against the Brooklyn Nets, the whole world will find out. This is only because the Nets feature players like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and now Blake Griffin. If a team is capable of upsetting the Nets, that will boost a squad’s confidence moving forward.

Let’s look back to when the Nets lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Collin Sexton had exploded for 42 points, which included a game-tying triple in overtime to send it into double overtime and an insane 15 points in double overtime alone. Many basketball fans who knew about Sexton could only be happy for the youngster; however, for basketball fans who didn’t know much about him found out what the Cavalier point guard is made of.

All in all, Kyrie Irving was right. Every single team wants to beat the Nets, they are the hottest team in basketball and they have household names on the roster. As Steve Nash pointed out earlier in the season when the team was struggling, every team is going to give them they’re all because of the, “names on the back of the jerseys.”
