Kylie Kelce does not play when it comes to sports. It’s probably not wildly surprising considering she’s been married to Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce since 2018, but her love of sports goes back way further than that.
Kylie played field hockey at Cabrini University in Pennsylvania, earning Rookie of the Year honors for the Colonial States Athletic Conference in 2013 and CSAC first-team honors twice in her career (2014, 2016).
Her experience as a player, and now a player’s wife, has helped her develop what she calls some superstitious “quirks”.
“I would lean towards [calling them] quirky only because it it takes a nice positive twist on it. I think quirky, such a cute word,” Kelce told For The Win in a recent interview for a Lindt chocolate partnership. “And it’s like, yes, my superstitions are cute. No, they’re actually a little over the top.”
Kelce has said her superstitions have manifested in everything from moving seats to making others stay out of the room if her favorite team’s tide turns when they leave.
“I’m okay with that,” Kelce said. “Like, I feel like I’m doing my part.”
If you want to know just how serious she is, her superstitions even stretch to household chores like laundry.
“There was one time where I was folding laundry, and I bent down next to the basket and they had like a really good catch,” Kelce explained with a self-deprecating laugh. “Then I had to stay bent down next to the basket. I will hold a position as long as I need to you know, so I absolutely am superstitious.”
We don’t know if Kylie will be in a suite for the Super Bowl, but if she is, you better be willing to move seats if things aren’t going well.
