Kyler Murray’s MVP odds cut in half after play in Week 2

Kyler Murray was +5000 to win MVP before the season. After his Week 2 gem of a game, they have shortened to +2500.

Could Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray suddenly become an MVP candidate in 2024? His performance over the first two weeks of the season, notably his game in Week 2 against the L.A. Rams, is catching the attention of sportsbooks.

His MVP odds have been cut in half.

According to BetMGM Sportsbook as of Wednesday night, Murray was +2500 (bet $100 to win $2,500) or 25/1 to win the MVP award. Before the season, he was +5000, which was a good value considering the ceiling of his ability and the fact we have seen him play previously in stretches at an MVP level.

His MVP odds are now the same as Dallas’ Dak Prescott and Detroit’s Jared Goff.

He is tied for the ninth-shortest odds to win the award.

As noted in another post, his play over two games projects to 34 touchdown passes, nearly 1,000 rushing yards and more than 3,600 passing yards. Using the first two games of this season and the final three of last season as a baseline for per-game production, he projects to have over 3,900 passing yards, almost 700 rushing yards and 34 touchdown passes.

Is now the time to jump on the growing MVP train for Murray, you might want to get a wager in now before the value goes away.
