Former Notre Dame star [autotag]Kyle Hamilton[/autotag] became the latest Fighting Irish product to be taken in the NFL draft’s first round last Thursday when the Baltimore Ravens managed to steal him with the 14th overall pick.
Hamilton, a two-time All-American safety at Notre Dame, was described by some as the most talented player in the draft. The Ravens, unlike the teams that selected before them, chose to view Hamilton’s game tap and stardom on the field instead of worry about his 40-yard dash time. In terms of scouting a star safety this is a philosophy that turned out better than OK for them when they drafted Ed Reed out of Miami 24th overall in 2002.
The Ravens announced what numbers their new acquisitions will wear on Tuesday and it’ll be more of the same for Hamilton.

Now pretty much the only question that remains is if any Raven will ever wear 14 again after Hamilton is done.
Kidding, of course…
Sorta.
