After an outstanding 2022 campaign, [autotag]Kool-Aid McKinstry[/autotag] was named to the First-Team All-SEC. McKinstry was a key part of the Alabama Crimson Tide defense with 35 tackles and one interception, but his side of the field was rarely tested.
McKinstry will be the leader of the Tide defense in 2023 and was listed as a top-10 returning player in College Football headed into next year per On3. If he continues to play at the level he did in 2022 there is a very solid chance that he will be a top-10 pick in the 2024 NFL draft when that time comes around.
McKinstry has been the best corner in Tuscaloosa since Patrick Surtain and hopes to follow in his footsteps when he gets to the league. The Alabama pass rush will likely take a step back in 2023 without Will Anderson, so the defensive backs will have an even more important role next season.
