Knicks’ Miles McBride puts up first 30-point game in G League

McBride became the 39th different player to score at least 30 points in a game this season in the G League.

New York Knicks rookie Miles McBride produced his first 30-point game on Thursday to help the Westchester Knicks to a win on assignment in the NBA G League.

McBridge finished with a season-high 31 points, nine assists, five rebounds and one steal in the 123-102 victory over the College Park Skyhawks. He went 12-of-20 from the field, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range, in 36 minutes of work.

The appearance by McBride was his third with Westchester as he became the 39th different player to score at least 30 points in a game this season in the G League. He certainly had his shot working from deep but also found success in the midrange and driving to the basket.

Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau previously expressed how important it is for McBride to play with Westchester when possible. The assignments have given him a great chance to stay ready and continue his development as the Knicks believe he has a bright future ahead.

The playing time may not necessarily be there now for McBride but the 36th pick has the luxury of playing with Westchester to stay sharp and work on his game. He is averaging 28 points, 7.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and two steals with Westchester.
