The New York Knicks have reportedly claimed two-way contract player Jared Harper off of free agency waivers, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Harper, who went undrafted out of Auburn, joined the Phoenix Suns for the Las Vegas Summer League last year. He eventually earned a two-way contract from the Suns but was waived in March prior to the suspension of the regular season.

Harper established himself as a human highlight reel given his elite athleticism and was one of the best players in the G League this season. In 33 games with the NAZ Suns, Harpers averaged 20.9 points, 5.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.

While the Knicks are not among the teams set to return to play at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, teams can utilize the one-week transaction window to get a head start on next season. Harper is a player that has potential and will now develop in the Knicks’ system.
