Kliff Kingsbury’s abrupt departure from Raiders OC job sparked plenty of jokes

Well, that didn’t last long at all.

The Las Vegas Raiders had Kliff Kingsbury as their new offensive coordinator… until they didn’t.

On Saturday, news broke from ESPN’s Adam Schefter that a reported snag in contract negotiations led Kingsbury to withdraw himself from the role.

His departure leaves the Raiders now looking for a replacement after zeroing in on the former Arizona Cardinals coach to call plays on offense for Las Vegas.

While there are still quality candidates available for Vegas, it’s not common to see such a quick reversal after he was expected to land the job just a couple of days ago.

It’s a very strange series of events, as Schefter noted that Kingsbury is now being tabbed as a possible candidate for Dan Quinn’s Washington Commanders in the same role.

As you can imagine, NFL fans had plenty of jokes at the ready for Kingsbury’s abrupt departure from a job he was expected to land just a few days ago.
