Klay Thompson to serve as sideline reporter during second quarter vs. Pistons

Klay Thompson will return to his broadcast post as sideline reporter for the Golden State Warriors home tilt against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday.

Over his career with the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson has taken on an array of nicknames, including “China Klay,” “Game Six Klay” and “Headband Klay.” While injured last season, he added another title to his resume.

During the 2019-20 season, Thompson served as a sideline reporter during Golden State’s home contest against the Chicago Bulls. His performance behind the mic earned the five-time All-Star the nickname “Sideline Klay.”

With Thompson slated to miss another season due to injury, the sharpshooting guard will return to his post as the sideline reporter for Golden State’s home tilt against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night. Thompson will join the NBC Sports Bay Area broadcast with play-by-play voice Bob Fitzgerald and former Warrior Kelenna Azubuike for the entire second quarter on Saturday night.
