After securing an NBA championship following a two-year layoff from the court due to injury, Klay Thompson is taking a well-deserved victory lap. The 32-year-old sharpshooter isn’t letting people forget about the Golden State Warriors’ doubters from their run to the NBA Finals in 2022.
On Wednesday, Thompson took to Instagram live for a quick message to NBA “experts.” In signature Thompson fashion, the four-time NBA champ called out any “expert” — specifically those who have never played — for having the Warriors “dead in the water.” Thompson ended his quick rant with, “I know it hurt them, I know it hurt them bad.”
Anyone who has ‘expert’ under TV analysis of their respective sport, but never really did the damn thing, can’t trust them. You can’t trust their opinion. You can’t trust their expertise because they literally said we were dead in the water. And, what did we do? Win the championship. So, how’s it feel? I know it hurt them, I know it hurt them bad.

Following his Instagram live session, Thompson received support from his fellow Splash Brother. Steph Curry responded with his own message to his teammate in a comment on Bleacher Report’s post of Thompson’s Instagram live video. Curry clearly got a laugh out of Thompson calling out Golden State’s critics.
