The Golden State Warriors suffered a tough loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. This defeat is Golden State’s third in the last five games, including a blowout against the Boston Celtics on March 3. Nevertheless, Klay Thompson wants his teammates to put the defeat behind them and focus on the upcoming games.
During his postgame press conference, the veteran sharpshooter noted how his team needs to flush the defeat and reset itself as it seeks to continue climbing in the Western Conference. The Warriors get an instant rematch against San Antonio on Monday.
“It’s disappointing,” Thompson said. “Give credit to the Spurs, they shot the heck out of the ball. … Unfortunate night at the office for everybody. But, Jon was great tonight at the rim. Hopefully he takes that same approach when we see them on Monday. Just a bad loss. Not good. But we’ll flush it, and see them again Monday.”
Thompson ended Saturday’s game as the Warriors’ top scorer. He accumulated 27 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block during 24 minutes of playing time. Since moving to a bench role, Thompson has been a vital offensive asset to the Warriors.

With an immediate opportunity to settle the score, it will be interesting to see how the Warriors approach their rematch with San Antonio. However, they would be better served focusing on climbing the Western Conference standings rather than focusing on a revenge game.
