As objective as he is, you know this was a hard one for ESPN College GameDay host and chief color commentator Kirk Herbstreit.
Michigan football shocked the college football world by going into Columbus as a three-touchdown underdog, with an anemic offense, but a stellar defense, and escaped having beaten Ohio State, 13-10. It was the fourth straight win over the rival Buckeyes and OSU is, still — days later — in full meltdown mode, despite likely being a College Football Playoff lock.
Given the gravity of the win, for Herbstreit, it was a lock that the Wolverines would end up being his top-performing team in Week 14.
Here are my top performing teams of WEEK 14:

This is a game that Wolverines fans won’t forget for some time, as most were resigned to hearing Buckeye gloating for the next year with hopes that a new-look team — perhaps led by Bryce Underwood — could restart the streak. However, now fans won’t have to wonder what that chirping from Columbus would be like as they have a full year to gloat that will likely make the national championship celebration pale in comparison.
