Kirk Cousins wants Vikings to finish strong

A win would be great, but the Vikings can move up in the draft if they lose.

The Vikings will not play another game in 2020. Kirk Cousins knows that and says that it’s important to turn that page, while looking ahead to 2021 and Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

“We want to finish strong,” Cousins said Wednesday via Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press. “I heard (Wednesday) morning that it’s important that we don’t view this as the last game of this year but really as the first game of 2021. I think that will help us kind of focus on where we’re heading, what we’re trying to build.”

Cousins would like to win, improving the Vikings to 7-9 and his career record back to .500.

The Vikings would draft 13th in the 2021 draft if the season ended today. However, with a loss, they could creep into the top-10. A loss could put them back to 15.

If Cousins plays, along with the rest of the starters besides Dalvin Cook, the Vikings should be able to win easily against a Lions team without Matthew Stafford.
