Kings’ Tyrese Haliburton sets new career-high in win over Nuggets

Just two nights after having a career night, Haliburton responded on Saturday with yet another memorable performance.

Just two nights after turning in a career night, Tyrese Haliburton responded with yet another statement game to help lead the Sacramento Kings to a 119-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

Haliburton on Saturday produced a career-high 23 points, topping his previous mark of 21 points, to go along with six assists and four rebounds in 35 minutes of work off the bench.

He finished by shooting 8-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range.

The 12th overall pick scored 12 points alone in the fourth quarter to help the Kings stay ahead of Denver in the closing minutes and pick up their third consecutive win.

Coming up big in the fourth quarter, though, isn’t new for Haliburton.

Through 20 games, Haliburton has recorded 101 points in the fourth quarter, which ranks second among rookies, trailing only Immanuel Quickley. He has hit several clutch shots this season and seemingly thrives under pressure.

Haliburton went through a recent cold stretch from the floor, but has bounced back in a big way. Over his last two games, Haliburton is averaging 22 points, five assists, 3.5 rebounds and two steals on 56.3% shooting from 3-point range.

The Kings appear to be turning the corner and look to be trending in the right direction after struggling earlier in the season. The play of Haliburton is certainly a huge reason why the Kings are finding recent success on the court.
