Detroit Pistons rookie Killian Hayes will not play on Tuesday night versus the Denver Nuggets due to right hip injury management, according to the NBA’s official injury report.
Of course, Hayes returned to the lineup on Saturday after missing 41 games due to a right hip subluxation. He went scoreless in that contest, while he hauled in five rebounds and dished out three assists in 20 minutes off the bench.
He bounced back on Monday in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, recording nine points, seven assists, four steals, three rebounds and two blocked shots. He finished the contest by converting on 4-of-9 shots from the field, including 1-of-4 from 3-point range.
With the Pistons playing in back-to-back nights, the team opted to rest Hayes on Tuesday versus the Nuggets. The organization has taken his rehab cautiously and does not want to overwork him during the last two months of the season.
