Kickoff time set for Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers

The Battle for the Floyd of Rosedale is set for Oct. 21. Kickoff time for Iowa versus Minnesota has been set.

One of the Iowa Hawkeyes’ three trophy games each year is against the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Battle for the Floyd of Rosedale. The matchup is set for October 21 this year inside Kinnick Stadium.

Iowa has released the kickoff time for this Big Ten West clash and it will be taking place at 2:30 p.m. CT. The television channel or streaming service remains to be determined.

While the Golden Gophers lead this all-time series by a tally of 67-47-2, the recent matchups have been anything but a rivalry. Iowa is currently on a run of winning eight straight games and having complete control of the trophy.

Minnesota’s head coach, P.J. Fleck took over in 2017 and still has yet to knock off Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes during his tenure. Last year was one of his best chances as he had Iowa all knotted up at 10-10 in the fourth quarter until a late interception by Jack Campbell set the Hawkeyes up to kick a game-winning field goal off the right foot of Drew Stevens.

Minnesota sits at 3-3 overall with a 1-2 mark in Big Ten play. While Iowa takes on Wisconsin in a critical game for the Big Ten West race, Minnesota is on a bye week after receiving a 52-10 drubbing at the hands of the Michigan Wolverines.
