Kevin Stefanski: ‘I didn’t sit’ during the Browns wild-card win while he was quarantined at home

Stefanski praised his coaching staff and the players for being prepared

NFL coach of the year Kevin Stefanski joined Mike Florio and Pro Football talk on NBC Sports for an interview this week. The Browns coach downplayed his honor and gave ample credit to his entire coaching staff while covering several other topics in the interview.

One of the standout points.

“I don’t recommend it,” Stefanski deadpanned. “It was excruciating, it really was. I think as a coach, as a play-caller, you have so much control and you’re making decisions and right in the nitty-gritty of it all.

To stand there — I didn’t sit — to stand there and watch your team perform … to see how they performed in that game, especially early. I was so proud of those guys.”

He laughed at the notion of coaching another game from his basement and the superstition of the idea.

It’s a good interview with the always-composed Stefanski.
