Kevin Durant reacts to ‘The Washington Football Team’ name change

Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant is a lifelong Washington Redskins fan, so he had to weigh in on the major change they made on Thursday.

A major change was made in the NFL on Thursday.

After receiving criticism for years for their team name, Washington’s NFL franchise finally decided on a new name. And they had plenty of options to choose from just from fan proposals alone.

There were the Red Wolves, Red Hawks and Red Hogs. The Senators, Generals and Monuments were brought up, as well.

But Washington didn’t pick any of the ideas listed above. In fact, the franchise didn’t even pick a name that anyone proposed — at least in public.

The Washington Football Team is the name the organization settled on; suffice it to say no one saw that coming.

LeBron James certainly didn’t. Still, he had something to say when the news broke:
