Kevin Durant named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

After averaging 32 PPG, 8 RPG and 5 APG on 63% accuracy from the field, Durant is awarded for his efforts.

Nets star Kevin Durant is simply playing like the best player in the world. Last week, the former Texas Longhorn averaged 32 PPG on 63% accuracy from the field while also adding 8 RPG and 5 APG to lead Brooklyn to a 3-1 week. From downtown, Durant was taking it to another level, shooting it at 53%.

Unsurprisingly, the 33-year-old will be taking home the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Of course, this is only making his case stronger for winning MVP by season’s end. The timing of his stellar play seems almost drawn up as the Nets are set to take on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. For Curry, he’s fresh off of averaging 35 PPG, 8 APG and 6 RPG for Golden State last week to lead them to a record of 3-1.

As a result, arguably the best point guard of all-time was awarded the Western Conference Player of the Week. It’s going to be an absolute showdown between these two juggernauts at Barclays Center. All eyes will be on this matchup between the Nets and the Warriors.
