There’s been no shortage of opinions regarding the potential return of Kevin Durant should the NBA resume the 2019-20 season. Though, there’s been no indication of how the Brooklyn Nets franchise feels either way.
Even though Nets general manager Sean Marks stoked the flames recently by referring to the subject as the “$110 million question,” Durant recently told Lil Wayne on Young Money Radio the franchise hasn’t tried to rush him back:
No, I wouldn’t say that. But, obviously, everybody’s anxious to see how we’re going to fit together, especially me and Kyrie [Irving].
As for all the speculation about whether or not he’ll come back, Durant simply stated, “It is what it is,” adding:
Everybody [is] waiting on me to come back. A lot of emotions involved. So I get it. I understand the business now. But I’ll be back when it’s time.
Durant was also recently part of a private conference call of NBA superstars — which featured LeBron James, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard and Stephen Curry — as the group “established (a) united front in favor of resuming (the) season,” according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
