Kevin Durant defends Nets fans at Barclays Center: ‘It’s been loud’

Kevin Durant goes to bat for the Nets’ fanbase.

In a city where the Nets are generally regarded as a the No. 2 choice for fans behind the Knicks, the team has developed a reputation for not having the most engaged of fanbases inside the Barclays Center. After two capacity crowds packed the arena to open the season, though, Kevin Durant gave props to Nets fans for keeping it loud.

“We get a bad wrap for our fans, saying we don’t get a lot, but I feel like every game that I’ve played since I’ve been here it’s been loud… I always hear Nets loud and clear.”

Guard Kyrie Irving further discussed the atmosphere in Barclays Center according to SNYtv. “Energy was great. I think our fans can get a little antsy sometimes, very hyper-critical of what they’re seeing out there in terms of us giving that championship effort. When they’re not seeing it, they’re gonna let us know.”
