Kevin Durant continues to impact Nets with presence alone

Kevin Durant hasn’t played one minute for the Brooklyn Nets, yet he continues to help his teammates.

Kevin Durant still has a way to go before he can make his Brooklyn Nets debut. Although Kenny Atkinson told reporters prior to Saturday’s game that the superstar forward is progressing and “working extremely hard,” he also indicated nothing has changed with regard to Durant’s timeline to return.

But Durant is still helping the Nets.

While his teammates are reminded they have a sleeping giant waiting in the wings every time he walks in the room, Durant is also doing what he can to impact their gameplay this season. Durant provides insight and shares what he sees from his teammates and opponents.

Atkinson added it’s to the point where Durant walks in the room and the vibe changes, per Anthony Puccio of Nets Daily:

When he walks in the room, we all become more confident.

In addition to making his teammates better players for when he returns, this should also have a positive impact on Durant’s chemistry with the rest of the Nets — because they’ll already have an idea of how he sees the game.
