So much of the sports media news cycle is about legacy, an arbitrary term used to build (or destruct) self-serving narratives and one-sided agendas.
All of the mindless chatter about legacy can be maddening, and it if feels that way for some fans, just imagine how it must sound to the players whose lives are constantly under the microscope. It’s likely one of the reasons why Kevin Durant finds that sports talk radio makes him nauseous.
There are few athletes on the planet who, on paper, have a better résumé for their “legacy” than Durant. He is a two-time NBA champion, two-time NBA Finals MVP, a four-time scoring champion, an MVP, and a 12-time All-Star.
Yet pundits are questioning KD’s accomplishments, mostly as fodder to fill air time. Within the past few months, recent headlines include the following:

I didn’t throw that last one in there as a joke, by the way. That was a real headline!
All of these one-dimensional hot takes exist without nuance and seemingly exist just to stir the pot rather than push the conversation forward. It’s unfair, boring, and lacks consideration of the fact that we are talking about people’s actual lives.

KD called as much into question, asking folks on Twitter what *they* did to add to their legacy yesterday. He also wanted them to define how they did it. No skirting by with vagueness here, buddy!
Fans constantly hear the word legacy without ever stopping to think about what it means or how silly it would be if the same question was asked of their own life.
