Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott was almost brutally honest when describing his wide receiver room at the start of training camp.
“We don’t really know what we have,” McDermott said via video conference. “It’s interesting to see that they’re a very diverse group. I know a lot of people talk about we don’t have a true number one and this and that. I think these guys will rise to the occasion. I really do.”
But a few days into figuring out what’s there, the one guy the Bills want to stand out is: Keon Coleman.
The team’s top rookie draft pick is playing well. He’s making big plays and it looks like a connection with quarterback Josh Allen is forming.
What is potentially Coleman’s early secret to success? Having a good time.
“It was fun, enjoyed it,” Coleman said following his first practice. “It was a nice little day.”
