This week has seen a number of Kentucky football players announce they will be departing the program via the transfer portal. On Friday, defensive lineman Deone Walker announced he would be leaving as well, but he will enter the NFL Draft.
Walker came to Kentucky as a four-star member of the 2022 recruiting class. He earned playing time right away, and broke out in a big way as a Sophomore, recording 13 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks.

The 2024 season was a disappointing one for the Wildcats team, and Walker’s stats were down. However, he still flashed the kind of talent that NFL teams love.
Most analysts are projecting Walker to be a first round pick in 2025. His combination of a 6’6″, 350 lb frame, and the quickness to rush the quarterback will make him a fantastic prospect.
Kentucky fans will miss Walker, but wish him the best at the next level.
