Kentucky baseball beat Ole Miss with an offensive explosion on Saturday

On Friday, the Kentucky Wildcats baseball team won a low scoring game against the Ole Miss Rebels. On Saturday, there was much more offense. The Wildcats bats exploded for a 17 – 9 victory over the Rebels.

Ole Miss took a 2 – 0 lead after one inning, but the Wildcats would score in each of the next five innings, including four in the third and sixth. The Rebels put some runs on the board, but couldn’t keep up. Kentucky would close with four more runs in the ninth.

Wildcat centerfielder Nolan McCarthy has a huge game, going 3-for-6 with four runs scored, two homeruns, and six RBIs. James McCoy also had a good game. He went 4-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Emilien Pitre homered for a second straight game.

Dominic Niman didn’t have the best day on the mound for the Cats, but got the win. The bullpen pitched well, surrendering just one earned run.
