Kentucky running back Chip Trayanum has had an injury setback

Kentucky football might be without running back Chip Trayanum for longer than expected after a setback.

Chip Trayanum came over from Ohio State as a transfer to Kentucky football, and had people excited. A big powerful runner, he was expected to be the lead running back for the Wildcats this season.

However, just before the season began, Trayanum suffered a broken hand, which was expected to force him to miss the first few games. That proved to be incorrect, and he missed each of the first five games, and that could wind up being even longer.

During head coach Mark Stoops’ Monday press conference, he addressed Trayanum’s injury without giving a lot of details.

Without getting into the weeds on it, we had a setback in what he had originally, so we will see where that goes.

That’s a tough blow for Trayanum, who was cleared to practice before the Ole Miss game. There are even reports that he could miss the season. Hopefully that’s not the case. If so, he will likely redshirt, and try again in 2025, but fans remain hopeful that he’ll see the field this year.
