The Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team has a really good recruiting class set to debut in 2024. It’s ranked by most as the second best class in the country behind only Duke. Guard Boogie Fland is a big part of that group.
This week, Fland received a huge honor for his play this season. The Archbishop Stepinac Senior averaged 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals pergame while shooting 36% from three point range. As a result, he was named MaxPreps New York High School Player of the Year.
Fland is the 26th ranked recruit in the 2024 class by 247sports, and the second highest ranked combo guard. He’s a terrific shooter and a solid defender, which is something the team sorely needed this past year.
Next year’s Kentucky squad is still coming together, and the roster will evolve a number of times before the season begins. However, there will likely be a need for quality guards in the rotation, regardless of who returns.
Fland is certainly a quality guard, and, at least according to some, the best high school player in New York.
