Kentucky is a three seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament

The Kentucky Wildcats now know their seed in the NCAA Tournament

March Madness is officially here, and the 2024 NCAA Tournament brackets are set. The Kentucky Wildcats now know their path to the Final Four, and they’ll start the journey as a three seed in the South Region.

Kentucky finished the season 23 – 9, but ended the regular season on a winning streak. They lost early in the SEC Tournament, but have proven that they can beat any team on a given day.

The Wildcats will play Oakland in round one on Thursday. They went 23 – 11 in their season. A match-up with either Texas Tech or North Carolina State will await them if they win.

Houston is the top seed in the Region, with Marquette as the number two. If Kentucky meets Houston, it will prove to be a tough game for them, as the Wildcats have struggled against good defenses at times.

Another noteworthy team in the South is fourth seeded Duke. SEC foes Florida and Texas A&M are also in the South Region. Both teams have wins over the Wildcats this season.

It may be a surprise to some that Kentucky got a three seed, and they’ll certainly have to beat some really good teams to make a Final Four run. They’re capable, but will need to play their best basketball of the season. They now know the path they’ll need to take if they want to make a deep NCAA Tournament run, and it starts in Pittsburgh on Thursday.
