Analyzing Saturday’s Kent State at Oklahoma odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Kent State Golden Flashes (0-1) will take on the Oklahoma Sooners (1-0) in Week 2 of the 2022 season. Saturday’s kickoff at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Kent State vs. Oklahoma odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Golden Flashes began the season with a lopsided 45-20 loss to the Washington Huskies. Redshirt junior QB Collin Schlee completed only 12 of 24 passes for 178 yards, 1 TD, and 2 interceptions in the loss.

On the other side of the field, the Sooners got off to a blazing start to the season with a 32-point victory over the Texas-El Paso Miners to give coach Brent Venables his 1st win as coach of the program. The defense limited UTEP to only 13 points while QB Dillon Gabriel was efficient in his debut, connecting on 15 of 23 attempts for 233 yards and 2 TDs.

Oklahoma is the No. 7 ranked team in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Kent State at Oklahoma picks and predictions

Prediction

Oklahoma 52, Kent State 10

Money line

This game could be over in the 1st quarter, but I’ll PASS on the money line in this contest. Even with Oklahoma expected to take care of business at home, the odds are at a point where taking the Sooners to win isn’t worth taking given the little return you’ll receive.

Against the spread

OKLAHOMA -34.5 (-108) is the play in this game. The Sooners were able to cover the massive -31.5 spread in Week 1 against UTEP and I expect Oklahoma’s defense to make a concerted effort to pitch a shutout in their 2nd home game.

Kent State is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games and they are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games. Also, Oklahoma is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games.

Over/Under

The Sooners are likely going to try to put this game away early by running it up on Kent State in the 1st half. Despite the scoring ability that Oklahoma possesses, UNDER 72.5 (-110) seems like the logical bet in this game.

The Under is 5-1 in Kent State’s last 6 games following a loss. Meanwhile, the Under is 4-0 in Oklahoma’s last 4 home games against a team with a losing record.
