Kendrick Nunn was nominated for Player of the Week for a second time

On the week, Kendrick Nunn averaged 21.7 points, five assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals in three games as the Heat went 3-0.

Miami Heat undrafted rookie Kendrick Nunn was nominated for the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week award, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic was ultimately named the Player of the Week while Nunn was among the finalists, joining teammates Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics.

On the week, Nunn averaged 21.7 points, five assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals in three games as the Heat went 3-0. He also shot 51% from the field, including 42.9% from 3-point range.

The nomination marks the second time this season Nunn has been in consideration for the award. The guard was also nominated for the award in Week 1 of the season when he recorded 67 points in three games.

Nunn is off to a tremendous start this season for the Heat. He ranks second among rookies in scoring, first in made 3-pointers and first in field goals this season. In addition, Nunn has scored at least 20 points in three consecutive games for the first time.

Through his first 12 games of the season, Nunn has been one of the top rookies and has carved out a big role in the rotation for the Heat and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
