Kayshon Boutte reverses course, declares for 2023 NFL draft

The Boutte saga has taken another turn.

It has been a crazy day for news on the [autotag]Kayshon Boutte[/autotag] front. Earlier on Wednesday, LSU announced that Boutte would not play in the bowl game but was still enrolled for the spring semester at LSU.

Later in the day, Boutte announced that he’s reversing course and declared for the 2023 NFL draft.

This is tough news coming after early national signing day, as well. The Tigers could’ve been looking to sign another receiver or two for the 2023 class, and they still might before February, but many of those guys are off the board.

There is always the transfer portal to fall back on and Brian Kelly has done a great job of finding great players in the portal so far. Kelly addressed Boutte’s departure on Twitter.

Boutte came into the season as one of the top wide receiver prospects in the draft, but he didn’t have as great of a season as he would’ve liked. That being said, he did have a nice game against Georgia in the SEC Championship. He caught six passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.
