Kate Runyon scored the first goal of the contest in the 76th minute for Tennessee. The goal is her third in 2023.
South Carolina tied the match, 1-1, after Catherine Barry scored her sixth goal of the season, converting a penalty kick in the 87th minute.
The Gamecocks outshot Tennessee, 19-16. Five of the Lady Vols’ scoring chances were on goal. South Carolina had six shots land on goal.
Abby Reisz started at goalkeeper for the Lady Vols and made one save.
Ally Zazzara entered the match after halftime and recorded four saves for Tennessee.
