The Kansas City Chiefs (0-1) visit the Arizona Cardinals (1-0) Saturday. Kickoff from State Farm Stadium is at 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Chiefs vs. Cardinals odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Chiefs opened the preseason with a 26-24 road loss vs. the New Orleans Saints Sunday. Kansas City had a 24-17 lead in the 4th quarter but gave up a touchdown with 1:20 left to allow New Orleans to get back into things. QB Chris Oldadokun tossed an interception just a few plays later that led to the Saints hitting the game-winning field goal as time expired.

The Cardinals opened the preseason at home with an 18-17 comeback win over the Denver Broncos last Friday. Arizona trailed 17-10 with 1:30 left but went on a 10-play, 75-yard drive and scored on an 18-yard touchdown pass and successful 2-point conversion with 2 seconds remaining.

Chiefs at Cardinals picks and predictions

Prediction

Cardinals 23, Chiefs 20

Moneyline

The Chiefs are expected to play their starters for around the first half, although QB Patrick Mahomes could play less than that. The Cardinals have not said how long they will play their starters.

In any case, it will be backups and NFL hopefuls deciding the outcome of the game. Preseason games are extremely unreliable and volatile for betting purposes.

The best way to bet on these preseason exhibitions is to simply play the underdog on the moneyline for the value.

BET CARDINALS (+240).

Against the spread

The Cardinals are 1-0 ATS with their preseason-opening win. The Chiefs are 0-1 ATS in the preseason with their loss.

But again, preseason games are too volatile for trend-follow bets.

Seven of the 16 preseason games last week had more than 40 total points. The Cardinals scored 18 second-half points. The Chiefs’ game had 50 total points last week.
