Over the weekend, America found itself taking to the streets in the wake of George Floyd’s death. Some of the protests were peaceful, while others escalated into instances of rioting, looting and cities burning.
Regardless, despite the civil unrest being initially borne in efforts to combat still-existent racism in this country, there’s been a lot of division, much of it being of a political partisan nature.
While Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh addressed the situation at hand both last week as well as over the weekend, we finally heard from basketball’s Juwan Howard — a man who’s never been one to back down from issues facing the black community.
In his statement, he called for unity, peace and a world that doesn’t resort to the tactics of violence and escalation to get the point across.

It’s a powerful message that hopefully everyone will hear.
