Justin Herbert on the impact of Keenan Allen, Mike Williams on Chargers offense

Herbert made it clear that the #Chargers’ offense functions differently when both of their star receivers are on the field at the same time

Justin Herbert has been without his top two receivers for much of the season but is slated to have both at his disposal for the Los Angeles Chargers’ Week 15 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. All in all, he has done well to keep the team above .500 with his exceptional play under center, but Herbert knows that having two game-changing wideouts on the field at the same time gives his offense a huge advantage over opposing defenses.

In comments to the media on Friday Herbert made it clear that both Mike Williams and Keenan Allen will play a major role in the Chargers’ tilt against the Titans on Sunday and pointed out the qualities that have made them stars in the NFL.

“Mike and Keenan are both incredible athletes,” He explained. “I think Mike is one of those guys that has done just such a great job with those 50-50 balls and just beating man coverage. Keenan, the same way, he’s able to just separate and cause that separation. When you have guys like that on the outside, you’re able to get away with more.

“You have two really talented, special receivers that know the game. Know exactly that the ball is going to come out early, they’re bringing extra pressure. They have a really good feel for it. When you get all of that combined and third down comes around, they’re going to be the guys that you go to and will be able to convert. That’s really part of the offense that we missed.”

Sunday’s battle between two teams vying for a spot in the playoffs is set to be one of the better games on the Week 15 schedule, and sparks should fly as Herbert puts Williams and Allen to use against the Titans’ exceptional running game spearheaded by Derrick Henry.
