Franchise legend Julius Peppers is loving the Panthers’ decision to promote his former teammate Dan Morgan.

The fans may not be in love with the Carolina Panthers’ choice for their new general manager, but a pretty familiar name is.

On Monday, the team bumped assistant general manager Dan Morgan up to the their president of football operations and general manager positions. When the announcement was released, specifically on the team’s official Instagram account, franchise legend Julius Peppers popped up in the comments with a stamp of approval:

Morgan and Peppers came to Carolina as first-round picks in back-to-back drafts, with the former going 11th overall in 2001 and the latter going second overall in 2002. The two went on to lead the Panthers defense for seven seasons together, a run that included an NFC South title and the organization’s first-ever Super Bowl appearance.

Due to continued injuries, Morgan would hang up his cleats in early 2008. He finished his career with 390 combined tackles, 7.0 sacks, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and a Pro Bowl nod.
