Julius Peppers eligible for Hall of Fame in 2024

Former UNC football standout Julius Peppers will be on the Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot for the first time in 2024.

The 2023 class was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend, becoming the latest class of players, coaches and members of the game to go into Canton. And already, the talk for the 2024 class is beginning as it could be another special one.

Among the players that will be on the ballot for the first time is former North Carolina star Julius Peppers who retired after the 2018 season.

Peppers joins a list of players that are eligible for the first time that include Antonio Gates, Andrew Luck, Jamaal Charles, Brandon Marshall, Haloti Ngata, Eric Berry, and Sebastian Janikowski.

After spending three seasons at North Carolina, Peppers was selected No. 2 in the 2002 NFL draft by the Carolina Panthers. He spent eight seasons with the Panthers before signing with the Chicago Bears in 2010. He went on to play for the Green Bay Packers and then returned to the Panthers before retiring.

Peppers recorded 719 total tackles, 159.5 sacks, 11 interceptions, 52 forced fumbles, and had 6 defensive touchdowns.
