Former Alabama star wide receiver [autotag]Julio Jones[/autotag] is preparing for season No. 12 of his career. Most of his time in the league was spent with the team that drafted him: the Atlanta Falcons. He spent only one season with the Tennessee Titans in 2021.
The Titans experiment didn’t work out for Jones, who was hoping to reinvigorate his career. Though he’s still a receiver capable of putting up league-leading numbers, his age and injury history have caught up to him.
Though the season is soon approaching, Jones has still not yet signed with a team. However, that likely won’t be the case for much longer.
Kevin Oestreicher of the Ravens Wire argues that Jones could be precisely what the Baltimore Ravens need at the position.
“When looking at what Baltimore still needs at the position, there are a few types of players that come to mind,” writes Oestreicher. “One is a big-bodied type of player that can go up and win contested catches with ease. The other is a deep threat who can take the top off of a defense. While Jones has never been known for his speed, his 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame certainly fits the mold of a player who can win at the catch point.”
There’s no telling at the current time if any teams have expressed interest in the wide receiver, but there is always room to speculate about which franchises might be the best fit.
