The NBA Finals, through two games, is starting to look like a runaway train.
With Boston up 2-0 in the series heading to Dallas this week, the Celtics proved they can win in a variety of different ways and with multiple players stepping up following their 105-98 Game 2 win.
In Game 2, it was former Bruin Jrue Holiday’s turn to step up. Scoring 26 points with 11 rebounds, Holiday’s double-double reflected his all-around performance. Adding both a block and a steal, Holiday’s ability to get the job done on defense as well as offense.
Holding Mavericks star Kyrie Irving to only 16 points and shooting 7-18 from the floor, Holiday was the catalyst for the Celtics’ success.
The former Bruin was named the most important player by one analyst going into the NBA Finals, and so far there is a good argument to be made about him. In Game 1, Holiday had 12 points with eight rebounds and five assists, so he has been doing everything you would hope for.
The Celtics are two wins away from taking the NBA Finals crown. Game 3 is on Wednesday night.
